With the growth in Lehi and Saratoga Springs, there are now 19 precincts. Up from 16 in our last caucus. Welcome Lehi Precinct's 24, 25, and 26! Make sure you know which precinct you're in. Here are all the caucus locations for Utah House District 6. You can also go here (vote.utah.gov/vote/menu/index) for more voter information and to confirm which precinct you're in (FYI, if you are in the new precincts--LE24, LE25, and LE26--the state website can confirm your precinct, but doesn't have the caucus location. If you are in LE05, the state site has the wrong location. The locations below are correct for each precinct's caucus meeting.) Contact me anytime if you have questions regarding caucus. We'll see you March 20!!
Now is the time to begin preparing for caucus 2018. This is the year caucus needs to be bigger, better and with more participation than ever before. There is no better time to exercise your right to participate in an our elections than at caucus time.
The beginning of a new year brings a new election season. 2018 will mark the year federal, state, and county elections take place throughout the state. There is no better time for the people of Utah and the people of House District 6 to exercise their right to participate in the election process than in their caucus - the path of the people.
In just a few short months, family members, friends, neighbors, and communities will gather at their precinct meetings to elect county and state delegates, elect precinct officers and caucus about the candidates and issues. I encourage everyone - all the people of Lehi and Saratoga Springs - to attend their precinct caucus. It is fun, it is fulfilling, and it is essential.
Due to the fast growth of our area, House District 6 will grow from 16 precincts to 19 precincts. If you want to become a delegate, now is the time to prepare. Speak with your family members, ponder and pray, and throw your hat in the ring. Let people know you plan to run. Begin finding out the concerns and desires of your neighbors, begin investigating the candidates. Then run as a delegate and/or a precinct officer. Precincts can start now gathering together in cottage meetings to discuss the candidates and prepare for the caucus meeting. One of the best things precinct officers can do is to hold as many precinct meetings to discuss and even practice the voting process.
The caucus is open to everyone of voting age. One great idea several precincts have been discussing is arranging group evening care groups for children so both parents can attend and participate.
There are many ways to prepare for the caucus. Begin now. Make caucus your precinct's meeting. Make them personal. Exercise your right to participate in the caucus.
I'll continue to post more information about the caucus and the convention as we move forward to March 20. I live in Lehi Precinct 2. I look forward to meeting with my friends and neighbors at our caucus meeting.
