Today HB 56, Emergency Personnel Recording Amendments, passed in the Utah Senate and is off to the Governor for his signature making the bill law. This has been a long time coming. It is a wonderful bill that will help paramedic firefighters and first responders in their training. It protects audio recordings that they may make of their work to revive people for use in training. In other states where this has been implemented, a noticeable spike in the survivability rate as been seen. This bill has always been about helping our first responders save more Utah lives. I’m very proud to be the sponsor of such a great bill. I’m grateful to Brandon Howard, a Lehi resident and paramedic firefighter, who brought me this issue and has been a wonderful advisor throughout. I’m also grateful for the help of Senator Jake Anderegg who served as the Senate floor sponsor of the bill. I hope and pray that Utah firefighters and other first responders will continually be blessed for their work and that they may always be safe.
"He [Cory] has extensive experience in working with people, all people, even with varying opinions and perspectives, and I have seen him be a coalition builder."
I am pleased to announce my endorsement and full support of A. Cory Maloy to replace me as the State Representative for the Utah House of Representatives in District 6.
Having served this great district in the House of Representatives for the last four years, I have learned that there are four key characteristics that make a great Representative. 1. Having a sound foundation and knowledge of Constitutional Principles, 2. Continuously Engaging in Effective Communication, 3. Having Political Courage to stand up for what is right, not necessarily what is popular, even at times against your own leadership or party, and 4. Statesman, the lost art of coalition building, using the power of persuasion to build support in order to be effective.
I have known A. Cory Maloy for more than five years. I have worked with him on many issues, and I have seen first hand his effectiveness in working to strengthen our district and work to meet the needs within the Republican Party. He has extensive experience in working with people, all people, even with varying opinions and perspectives, and I have seen him be a coalition builder. I have seen him communicate effectively with the delegates, in rallying their support and efforts. I have seen him stand on principle, even in the face of losing some delegate support because he felt it was the right thing to do. I have also seen him compromise in working to solve difficult problems within the party in order to find solutions that will work. I can truly say that I have seen A. Cory Maloy demonstrate each of the needed principles that will make him an effective Representative in the House.
A. Cory Maloy is the best Candidate to replace me as our Representative in the Utah State House of Representative. Join me in voting for A. Cory Maloythis coming Primary Election on June 28th, and let's make sure that our area continues to have a strong, conservative voice up at the State Capitol.
