Tomorrow, June 28, you will be going to the polls for the Republican Primary Election. During this busy and long campaign season, I hope I have been able to earn your vote. I have come to know the people of this great District in ways I never knew I would. I’ve talked with families who have lost sons in Afghanistan, the beautiful stories only individuals who have lived here their entire lives can tell, people who love living here and love our state, teachers who are passionate about our children, police officers, firefighters, and local officials. From the top of Point of the Mountain to the Northern Shore of Utah Lake, I’ve been touched by all of our conversations and have grown to love and appreciate each of you. www.corymaloy.com
As you go to the polls, you will be voting for your next Utah House Representative here in District 6. Please consider my vision for our District and State, which has been my published vision since January.
One of the biggest issues we face, one we have already been experiencing here in District 6 (Lehi and Saratoga Springs), is fast growth. Our population will double to more than 6 million people during the next 25 - 35 years. Since all issues will be magnified by this fast growth, as your Representative, I will focus on finding the solutions to address:
Infrastructure - Utah’s roads, freeways, and schools will need to be maintained and expanded.
Education - Continued emphasis on eliminating federal influence from our education system, and moving the decision making to parents, teachers, and educators at the local level.
Natural Resources - As the 2nd driest state in the U.S., solutions for increasing water availability to a growing and thirsty population will be required. Projections on our water supply show demand may begin exceeding supply as soon as 2030.
State Sovereignty - More than 67 percent of Utah public lands are federally controlled. We need to bring those areas under state control. Utahans will be much better stewards.
A Moral Society - The family, along with long-standing morals, continue to come under attack at every level. We need to protect the moral fabric of our society. Read about my vision here: https://www.corymaloy.com/issues.html
The Republican Party
I have been a Republican my entire life. The Party’s platform conforms closest to my political and moral values, and therefore I support it above any other party. I don’t criticize the party, and I don’t work to tear it down. I hold the Party platform in high esteem and have worked hard to protect it. I naturally and proudly chose the caucus and convention option to get on the Republican ballot. I have gained the support of the Party along with its many unified members. Since the beginning of my campaign, I have pledged to provide principled representation to build a vibrant Utah. As Utah House Representative for District 6, I will utilize my conservative principles to represent my constituents in the on-going fight for liberty, national and state sovereignty, freedom from federal overreach, a moral society, and protection of the principles established by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution of the United States. I will apply these ideals in practical ways for Utahns, with faith-based integrity, reason, and hard work. I hope I have earned your vote -- I humbly ask for your vote. Please call me anytime if you have any questions.
