Utah County Republican Party Caucus and Convention Information

Please see below for precinct Facebook page links and information from the UCRP regarding caucus and convention. If you were elected a delegate in 2018, you remain a delegate for this caucus/convention cycle.

For your reference here are the links to the Leg. District 6 precinct Facebook pages. (I don’t have links for SR02 and SR04. Let me know if you have those links and I’ll post them here.) I will be posting information and virtual cottage meeting schedules here on this blog as well as to each of the Facebook pages:

Here is the information from the UCRP regarding caucus, delegates, and the convention:

Thank you for your willingness to serve. The past few days have been quite strenuous on our

American institutions, including our political process. Following the guidance of our President

and Governor, the Utah County Republican Party has enacted social distancing policies to protect our community.

As a result of precautionary measures, several changes will take place with this years Caucus

and Convention, as followed:

  1. Caucus is postponed. All Utah County delegates will continue to serve in their current capacity.

  2. Delegate vacancies will be filled by the current alternate delegates, as they were elected in

  3. 2018. If alternate delegates are unable or unwilling to serve, The Precinct Chair will appoint

  4. a replacement.

  5. If a Precinct Chair position is vacant, the elected Vice Chair will be given the opportunity to

  6. fill that role. If they decline or are unable, the Legislative District Chair will appoint a new

  7. Precinct Chair.

All delegate vacancies are to be reported to the Utah County Secretary by March 19, 2020. All

vacancies are to be filled and reported to the Utah County Secretary by March 25, 2020. The

completed delegate list will then be available to all candidates.

The Utah County Convention will then follow with this structure:

  1. Candidates will have the opportunity to submit a campaign speech video to the County Party,

  2. not to exceed 5 minutes, by April 7, 2020.

  3. Candidate videos will be posted no later than April 11, 2020.

  4. Voting will be conducted by mobile app. Delegates will have the opportunity to vote starting

  5. April 16, 2020 (8am) and ending April 18, 2020 (5pm).

  6. Election results will be posted in the evening of April 18, 2020.

The Utah County Republican Party is exploring opportunities to provide delegates with digital

campaign activities, like town halls and debates, although nothing is currently scheduled. The

Party will communicate any future opportunities to all candidates.

Delegate data requests should be communicated to Karen Ellingson, by emailing

secretary@ucrp.org.

Thank you for your understanding and support,

Stewart Peay, Chair

Skyler Beltran, Vice Chair

Karen Ellingson, Secretary

Brandon Loveland, Treasurer
