This week was a huge milestone at the Legislature for me. My bills HB52, HB101, HB209, HB246, and HB284 have all made it through the Legislative process, received funding, and are on their way to becoming law. My bill HB99 passed both chambers, but since it wasn’t funded, it didn’t make it to the Governor’s desk. I am so grateful to all who have helped move these bills across the finish line.
Tonight is the final night of the legislative session and we will be working all the way until midnight to pass as many bills as we can before midnight. It has been a busy session and I have am proud of the work we have been able to accomplish this year.
During the Legislative Session, I had the opportunity to connect with Lehi’s new Mayor, Paul Binns, as well as each member of the Lehi City Council while they were visiting the Capitol. I always appreciate the chance to hear directly from local leaders about the priorities and issues affecting their communities. This week, I enjoyed spending time with Councilwoman Heather Newell during her visit. I’m grateful for the work Lehi’s leaders are doing to serve their residents and value the strong partnership between state and local government.
I am also grateful for the snow received this week. It is always great to see the moisture coming to Utah and it is a nice way to wrap up the final week of the session. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this process.
